Fig. 1
Place Splash Putty Paks in refrigerator for ½ hour or more and have a friend ready to assist you.

Fig. 2
Get the metal tray ready. (When you bite into tray with upper teeth, the back of tray should extend at least to the end of your back teeth, but should not be painful, if tray is not wide enough just bend the sides of tray out until it fits).

Fig. 3
Brush/floss teeth and wash hands. Take all four putties out but keep separate. Then watching the second hand on a clock, mix the four putties together quickly with fingers until it becomes one color (with no streaks).
Mix for at least 30 seconds but no more than 45 seconds.
Fig. 4
Quickly Roll putty into sausage shape, make long enough to hang off both sides of your palm ½ inch to 1inch depending on size of your mouth.

Fig. 5
Place sausage-shape putty in metal tray just against outer wall. Ends of putty should extend barely passed back edge of tray. (red mark indicates where front teeth should bite into putty).

Fig. 6 Fig. 7
Looking very closely in mirror, open mouth wide and insert tray just far enough that front teeth are one centimeter back from front wall of tray (red line in Fig. 5).
Make sure to pull upper lip up and out of the way. While holding lip out of the way, push tray with putty straight up into teeth until teeth hit the bottom of tray, then bite down to hold tray in place. (CAUTION: Do not push up, pull out and push back up again, this will cause an inaccurate impression). Once you have bitten down, use your finger to push putty high into gums (see fig. 9 & 10), then wrap upper lip out and over the front wall of tray and close mouth. Use your own suction ability to suck putty tight to gums and teeth being careful not to move tray at all for at least 3 minutes (When putty has hardened).

Fig. 11
After putty has hardened completely , pull straight down then out. Rinse with warm water. A good impression should go up the gums (see Fig. 11 the higher the better). Place impression back in plastic bag, put in box it came in, along with completed Consent form. Place the return postage label over the address label on box, and mail it. You should receive your mouthguard in 2-3 weeks at address you provide on form. If you have questions, email us at grillguards@gmail.com or call 801-455-9866. |
